School Safety is a Paramount Concern. Under the intense spotlight of the national media, the tragedy of more school shootings spreads horror, shock, and fear to every border of the country. SAS HALO is the systems integrator supporting a layered approach to school safety that maximizes your existing investments while dramatically improving the safety of your students, teachers, and staff while at school. A summary of partners, including leading national security companies and emerging Early Threat Detection solutions, follows below.
SAS HALO has an ongoing Business Partnership with AESA. ESAs assist with next-generation school security planning, installation oversight, and system testing with district officials and first responders. Additionally, we invite ESAs to help with continuous improvement through advisory board participation. Provide regional breakout sessions on security best practices for keeping students, teachers, and staff safe.
Powered by 911 Inform, the HALO 911 platform can reach over 5,100 - US 911 Public Safety Access Points for alerts and communications. 911 Inform creates real-time communication between the 911 dispatcher, first responders, and the people at the dispatch location. First Responders are directed via Google Maps to the emergency locations' closest entrance and can electronically unlock doors using a mobile device. First Responders can view the facility's live security camera video using their mobile devices and take control of the public address system to communicate with all individuals during the emergency. Based on your school security plans, we support paging the entire district with one button for lockdown. Additionally, your schools will meet the current and emerging federal compliance requirements for Kari's Law, Ray Baum's Act, and Alyssa's Law.
Walking buildings can add time and cost to deploying cost-effective solutions. Using four-dimensional modeling, we can capture your facility's dimensions, provide designs, create budgets and proposals, forecast the build materials, install to exact specifications, and create detailed records for ongoing support. School facility dimensions captured via aerial photography with four-dimensional modeling provide accurate radar positioning with simulated views for obstruction, including terrain and vegetation. The system will create a budget with bill-of-materials, including proper mounting specifications and detailed proposals. Geospan also integrates with SAS HALO's Project Management Office, Manada Tech, to develop step-by-step mobile installation instructions to include longitude and latitude mounting locations. Specific locations with serial numbers of product kits are recorded in the SAS Halo configuration management database for service delivery and support. The complete facility detail image is also available for the Network Operations Center, showing exact physical locations focusing on your security service's high availability and reliability.
With over 60% of all US first responders' credentials, their locations with longitude and latitude used for emergency dispatch, Salamander is the leader in identifying the closest first responders to an emergency with the credentials to meet the need. They currently have seventeen statewide adoptions for 911 dispatch to send the closest credentialed first responder to the emergency's dispatchable location and have installations in all states. Salamander can determine whether a person carrying a weapon is an authorized first responder, providing an accurate False-Positive identification. The mobile application is also available for School Resource Officers and others the district approves for carrying weapons onto school property. Additionally, Salamander supports workflows for tracking student location during emergencies, facility exit to muster point arrival and departure, and family reunification center with communication per the school security plan.
SAS HALO with Manada will support our national Project Management Office (PMO) with over 6,500 certified W2-based installers. Manada's systems integrate with Geospan for detailed installation locations and step-by-step process with onsite testing for client acceptance. The system maintains detailed records in the network operations center supporting onsite break-fix support, moves, adds, and changes. Over $6M has been invested in PMO development using Sales Force and its $1.35 billion acquisition of ClickSoftware to intelligently schedule, track, and optimize field service work with real-time reporting and high client satisfaction.
JDL provides IP video hosting, streaming, recording, and secure access for distribution for four of the six largest school districts in the US. JDL employs an experienced team of software developers and user interface graphical design specialists to create custom video-based workflows for schools and districts. Over one million hours of coding leverages the scalability of the AWS platform. Its offering uses the CloudFront Content Delivery Network (CDN), also used exclusively by Prime and Netflix. The CDN and JDL's proven workflows ensure high-quality IP-based video over wired and wireless networks.
With over 80% of school shootings taking place outside of the facility, the creation of a perimeter detection and communication network covering an entire campus is necessary. Emerging solutions will find concealed threats with millimeter wave signature matches augmented with AI. The system will support a robust API to integrate with third-party systems, provide threat location, and use an optical camera for live stream delivery to individuals listed on a school's security plan for decision support and avert danger. Halo provides systems integration as a service vs. selling products with maintenance plans.
